Consider/Approve Central Cafeteria Food/Non-Food Bid for the 2017 – 2018 School Year


Background Information:

In addition to advertising, the Reelfoot Area Consortium solicited bids for the purchase of food and non-food items (specifications attached). All of these items are for the 2018 – 2019 school year and funds will be budgeted in the FY19 Central Cafeteria Fund for these purchases. The Consortium received (2) two bids for these purchases from U.S. Foods and Sysco and determined that the low bid meeting all specifications was submitted by Sysco.

The consortium approved the bid meeting all specifications (summary attached) submitted as noted above by Sysco; however, each individual school board must accept the bid.

Staff Recommendation:

We concur with the recommendation set forth by the Reelfoot Area Consortium and Ms. Judy Denman, and recommend approval of the bid submitted by Sysco. With this approval, it is the intent of the Board and management that no liability will be incurred, nor a purchase order issued, until the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018.
